Miller Wins Race for Assembly

With all 68 precincts now reporting, according to NY1 News, Mike Miller has captured 65% percent of the vote, winning the race for Assembly over Donna Marie Caltabiano.  In a Special Election called as a result of longtime District 38 representative Anthony Seminerio's guilty plea to charges of bribery and corruption, Mr. Miller garnered 2,730 votes to Ms. Caltabiano's 1,499.

This means that Mike Miller will represent Woodhaven in the New York Assembly until at least January 2011.  A new election, to be held in November of 2010, will result in the winner serving a full term.  On the night before the Special Election, both Mr. Miller and Ms. Caltabiano were guests on Project Woodhaven's web-based radio program which you can listen to here.

Last month, Mike Miller was a guest speaker at the Woodhaven Town Hall hosted by the WRBA.

Congratulations to Mike Miller, our new Assemblyman -- we wish you the best of luck in your new position.  You'll be hearing from us!

And a tip of the hat to Donna Marie Caltabiano, who has done a lot for Woodhaven, ran a good race, and we're sure we'll see her in another election soon.
